the club rules

We have a few club rules. They are designed to keep you safe and happy. We have kept them to a minimum, but we do enforce them. If you see any of them being infringed please tell someone with a badge on, they will do something about it. Similarly if you want to try something unusual just ask, so far we have never said no to any strange requests.

club safe word

Nightshade has a Universal Safeword. This word is "CIRCUS" If you hear someone use this word then it is YOUR duty, as it is everyone else's duty, to help whoever has used it. Everything in that scene stops at that point until the person using the safeword is deemed to be OK again. This is because, although many people have their own safewords, not everyone knows what they are, and if playing with a new partner it is all too easy to forget what word they have given you, or what word they have told you. This way there is an extra layer of safety for all concerned. This does not mean you cannot continue to use your own safeword, just that CIRCUS will override everything else.

cameras

No cameras, not even by the organisers. There will be no exceptions to this. Anyone found bringing a camera inside the club will have either the film exposed, or the pictures erased. They will then be asked to leave immediately and banned for life. People have the right to come to a club knowing that there is as much discretion there as they would offer to others.

mobile phones

As modern mobile phones can have cameras in them we assume that all mobile phones have a camera in them. Under no circumstances take your phone out within the club. If you have to use a phone go out the double doors at the main bar, there you can answer it in the foyer. If you see a phone in the main club area yell out loudly. It may be your photo it is taking.

blood play

There will be no blood play, nor fake blood play. The dungeon masters/mistresses have no way of knowing it is fake. Please clean up any body fluids after you. We want this to be a safe environment.

joining in

Please do not interfere with a happening scene. If people want you to join in they will ask you. If you see a bystander just join in, it may have been prearranged. Do not think it is an open invitation for you to do so too.
If you want to play with someone just ask them, but accept the first answer they give. On the other hand if someone asks you to play with them remember how much effort it took for them to ask you before giving your answer.
